I was lucky enough to have company for this week’s tasting. Especially articulate company with a good palate. I bought this bottle because the 2005 was scored a 90 in Wine Specator. And that’s a fair score, as far as we can figure. Far above average, no question. It’s a hell of a light bodied wine, so if you’re expecting huge, you’ll be disappointed. But what a faboulous wine to pair with food. It’s lightness makes it really easy-going, but it’s not boring.

This wine tasting stuff is definitely going to be a regular deal here. What a treat. What an education. What a great excuse to pretend we’re smart and eat good food. The awesome part about it is that so long as the participants are eager and willing, everyone’s opinion is valid, regardless of experience.
Tonight we enjoyed this with some amazingly mild and fatty prosciutto di parma, asiago cheese, and kalamata olives. Followed by some fresh bread pudding, cream cheese, and Canadian brie – and a latté. Life is good.
